CCPO ramps up probe into 15-year-old gun-for-hire claim

THE Cebu City Police Office is ramping up its investigation on a 15-year-old boy who allegedly works as a gun-for-hire. The teenager was arrested during a manhunt operation following a shooting incident in Sitio Riverside, Barangay Duljo Fatima, Cebu City.The suspect was arrested in Barangay Mantalongon, a rural area in Cebu City, on Monday, February 3, 2025. Police recovered a caliber .45 pistol and ammunition from the teen.

Macatangay denied the presence of an active gun-for-hire group in the city but revealed that the teen is involved in illegal drugs and is being recommended for drug rehabilitation.'Naa gihapo'y involvement sa illegal nga drugas. Very unfortunate at a very young age, but hopefully, things will turn around for him. It's just unfortunate also for the family nga nabiktima sad aning bataa,' said Macatangay.
