The construction industry is calling on the federal government to increase its skilled visa cap to 58,000 to combat labour shortages in the building sector.
The industry has had a sharp drop in activity due to labour shortages, interest rate rises, and supply chain issues.
Universities Australia has also been calling for international students to be given a temporary visa when they graduate in order to fill the labour shortages.
