Former Socceroos captain Paul Wade says he wants to see the violent pitch invaders from the A-League derby on Saturday jailed “so they never, ever forget what they just did”.
Football fans who invaded the pitch could face jail time after Melbourne City goalkeeper Tom Glover and referee Alex King were struck by a metal bucket filled with sand.
A Channel 10 camera operator was also bruised and left with burnt clothes after being hit by a flare thrown from the crowd.“Maybe take points off them but would that hurt the morons that did that yesterday? Probably not,” he told Sky News Australia.
