Burnaby residents can donate non-perishable food items and cash throughout October to help put more than 26,500 meals on local tables.

Burnaby Neighbourhood House is organizing a month-long campaign aimed at raising funds to ensure local residents have food on the table.

More than 1,000 households and 1,300 people in Burnaby are supported by the hubs, BNH spokesperson Kimberly Barwich explained in a release, contributing to over 26,500 meals each month. "The goal of the Harvesting Hope campaign is to raise awareness about the issue of hunger in our community and to collect essential food items and cash donations to help individuals and families facing food insecurity," she said.

"We are committed to alleviating hunger in Burnaby and are so thankful for the support of our current partners and community members," said BNH CEO Antonia Beck.
