Filipino boxer Charly Suarez is looking to join the national team again for another go at the Olympic gold.
Suarez, an Asian Games silver medalist and 3-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist, competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics. He recently turned pro, but still competes in the amateur ranks.“Ako’y taos pusong lalahok kung bigyan ako ng pagkakataon ng ABAP,” Suarez said in an article posted on PhilBoxing.com.
The 31-year-old won gold in the recent SEA Games at the 60kg class . But the weight classes in the Olympics, are different. The Olympic featherweight limit is 57 kg and lightweight 63kg.
