MANILA, Philippines -- The Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee on Wednesday announced that they will ask the approval of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the resumption

of training of the country's Olympic hopefuls.

Four Filipinos are already qualified for next year's Summer Games in Tokyo: pole-vaulter EJ Obiena, gymnast Carlos Yulo, and boxers Eumir Marcial and Irish Magno. "COVID-19 notwithstanding, we must never lose sight of our goal to give our best for our first Olympic gold," he said."We can only recommend, but they have the final say," said Fernandez.

Both PSC complexes have been used as quarantine facilities in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
