Some portions of the Vigan Cathedral in Ilocos Sur province were damaged following a 7.0-magnitude earthquake on Wednesday morning. Cruz-Angeles said Marcos is currently in coordination with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and the Department of Social Welfare and Development .
“[Pres. Marcos] also calls on the telcos to provide immediate assistance and free communications to all locations where towers have gone down to keep these communications open,” Cruz-Angeles said.
