A strong 7.3-magnitude earthquake shook parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, on Wednesday morning, July 27, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology .
In its initial bulletin, Phivolcs traced the epicenter of the earthquake at 2 kilometers northeast of Lagangilang, Abra, at a shallow depth of 25 km.It was felt as a moderately strong shaking at Intensity IV in Quezon City. Phivolcs said the earthquake was tectonic, which means it was caused by the movement of an active fault near the area.
