Senator Bong Go said that he was stripped of his security detail even before Vice President Sara Duterte lost hers. “Hindi siya nagi-isa dahil unang-una, ako rin po ay natanggalan ng security. Mas nauna pa ako sa kanya. Siguro mga three weeks ago pa ito,” the senator said in an audio record sent by his staff. “Concerned rin po ako kahit papaano. Ako nga mismo senador, alam niyo ang trabaho namin ay kahit saang sulok po ng Pilipinas ay umaabot po ako.
Sara earlier cried foul after the Philippine National Police pulled out 75 cops from her security detail which she believes was a form of “political harassment.” The PNP has yet to comment on the vice president’s remarks, but the country’s top cop Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil issued a directive to rationalize the deployment of the Police Security and Protection Group personnel to achieve a police-to-population ratio of 1:500.
