President Joe Biden said the United States is not seeking a new Cold War with China, as he reveals where the latest unidentified flying objects likely came from.

The White House has since revealed however that China’s military operates a “high-altitude balloon program” which has been active across multiple continents.

President Biden however warned that if any other object presents a threat to the US, he won’t hesitate to bring it down.“Make no mistake. If any object presents a threat to the safety and security of the American people, I will take it down,” he added. “As I have said since the beginning of my administration, we seek competition not conflict with China.“This episode underscores the importance of maintaining open lines of communication between our diplomats and our military professionals.”“I expect to be speaking with President Xi and I hope we are going to get to the bottom of this,” he added. It comes after Secretary of State Antony Blinken postponed a long awaited trip to China following the downing of the first balloon.

‘National embarrassment’: Spy balloon should’ve been ‘shot down’ before entering US airspace‘National embarrassment’: Spy balloon should’ve been ‘shot down’ before entering US airspaceThe United States was tracking the Chinese spy balloon for weeks, and it should have been shot down before it entered the country’s airspace, according to former US Army vice chief of staff General Jack Keane. He said the United States allowing the balloon to enter its airspace is a “national embarrassment”. “So the first balloon we shot down was a huge underreaction by the United States,” General Keane told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “The second, third and fourth balloons appear to be an overreaction somewhat related to the criticism that the administration received that was quite significant for not shooting the Chinese spy balloon initially.”

‘Woefully unprepared for war’: Jim Molan’s critical warning in final must-watch interview‘Woefully unprepared for war’: Jim Molan’s critical warning in final must-watch interviewThe late Senator Jim Molan used his final interview before he died to urge the government and Australians to begin preparing for war as he declared China is determined to become the “dominant power” in the Western Pacific. In the wide-ranging interview, Mr Molan assessed Australia as being “woefully unprepared” for a regional conflict between China and the United States. Mr Molan died in January following a two-year battle with cancer and filmed his final interview with Peter Stefanovic for the Sky News Australia documentary Are We Ready For War? which airs on Wednesday February 15 on Sky News Australia at 7:30pm AEDT. In the interview, the former army major general said China is determined to become the “dominant power” in the Western Pacific – and even perhaps across the whole world. “The big threat to us is that somehow someway China will challenge us as a liberal democracy, it might be in direct conflict with us, it might be in a war with us and our great and powerful friend, the Americans, with us as collateral damage to that particular war,” Mr Molan said. “And because the Americans are out of the region, we become fundamentally a tributary state to China, and we lose our liberal democratic nature. That’s what we’ve got to defend. “We are woefully unprepared for a regional war in relation to the resilience of our nation.” After serving in Australia’s armed forces for 40 years, including stints in East Timor and Iraq where he served as Chief of Operations, Mr Molan made a move to politics. In the lead-up to the 2013 election, Mr Molan helped design the Operation Sovereign Borders policy and went on to serve as then prime minister Tony Abbott's Special Envoy for Operation Sovereign Borders from 2013 to 2014.
