A top White House official admitted a recent trio of unidentified flying objects shot down over United States and Canadian airspace may not be Chinese surveillance devices.

The unidentified aircrafts were over the weekend spotted flying above the US state of Alaska, Lake Huron, near Michigan and Toronto, and in northern Canada.

“We haven’t seen any indication or anything that points specifically to the idea that these three objects were part of the spying program, or that they were definitively involved in external intelligence collection efforts,” he told reporters. The Chinese aircraft was able to intentionally move above sensitive US military sites but the three downed unidentified objects were flying with no manoeuvring mechanisms and driven by the wind.

Whereas the object blown out of the sky in northern Canada on Saturday was a"small balloon with a tethered payload below it", a Pentagon memo, seen by CNN, noted.
