The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has prevented an American from entering the country upon arrival at the Mactan Cebu International Airport.
BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said the American was stopped at the airport and was not allowed to enter the country after his name appeared in the list of sex offenders.
Based on the BI data, 38-year old Jonathan Daniel Vasquez was convicted in 2006 for attempted lascivious acts with a minor under 14 years old and for attempting to molest a minor under 18 years of age. The US Federal Bureau of Investigation had documented his case, and he was also listed on the State of California's sex offenders registry.
