Benitez urges supporters to follow Comelec rules

BACOLOD City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez has urged supporters of all candidates to adhere to the Commission on Elections guidelines when putting up campaign materials in various areas of the city.Benitez noted that as the local campaign period begins on March 28, 2025 candidates should take responsibility for reminding their supporters to comply with Comelec regulations.

“I also coordinated with the Comelec if they need assistance from the city for the enforcement of their guidelines like the implementation of Oplan Baklas or the removal of posters or tarpaulins that illegally hung in public places that not allowed by the Comelec rulings,” he said. He added that the city would support enforcement agencies in upholding and implementing Comelec regulations.
