Congresswoman Geraldine Roman took up cudgels for Batangas municipal councilor Angela Marasigan, who reportedly endured discrimination at a clothing store in BGC, Taguig City, recently. READ:
In a statement released via her Facebook account, the Bataan representative expressed regret over the incident where Marasigan, a transwoman, was supposedly barred by a sales attendant from using a changing room designated for women.Marasigan tearfully narrated her ordeal in a TikTok video last October 19. The video has gone viral across all social media platforms.
“Babae, lalaki, bata, matanda, LGBT man o hindi, TAO tayong lahat,” Roman wrote on Facebook. She also explained that discrimination and disrespect directed to anyone because of their identity should not be tolerated.
