Discussions focused on the crucial role of women in peacebuilding, the progress made in fostering women's participation in governance, and the challenges posed by conflict and the need for technology-driven peacebuilding solutions.

Government officials, policymakers, members of civil society, and representatives from other key sectors across the Asia-Pacific region came together on February 7th in a unified effort to advance, strengthen, and amplify the global women, peace, and security (WPS) agenda. During a panel discussion, Presidential Peace Adviser Carlito Galvez Jr.

underscored the critical importance of meaningful inclusion and participation of women in peacebuilding initiatives, asserting that genuine peace cannot be achieved without their voices and perspectives. Sha Elijah Dumama-Alba, Minister of the Interior and Local Government in Bangsamoro, highlighted the progress made in fostering an environment conducive to women's increased engagement in governance and peacebuilding within the Bangsamoro region. She emphasized how the Bangsamoro Organic Law has paved the way for this positive transformation. Timor-Leste Deputy General Secretary Habib Ur Rehman Mayar shared insights into the challenges posed by war and conflict, stressing the need to address these issues through truth-seeking and constructive dialogue.Ella Syafputri Prihatini, an assistant professor in Political Science and International Relations, provided a glimpse into Indonesia's journey towards advancing the WPS agenda within the realm of governance. She detailed the structural barriers that have hindered women's entry into politics, emphasizing the need to overcome these challenges to ensure greater female representation in decision-making positions. Jaimee Stuart, a senior researcher at United Nations University in Macau, explored the evolving landscape of technology and its potential impact on peacebuilding. She emphasized that as new technologies emerge, it is crucial to create new spaces for peacebuilding engagement and actively invest in women's participation in the technological sphere
