BACOLOD CITY — The six leaders of transport groups who were arrested while protesting in front of a local hotel here were released from police custody after posting bail.

Rudy Catedral, president of Bacolod Alliance of Commuters, Operators and Drivers ; Lilian Sembrano, president of Kabacod Negros Transport Coalition ; Shallymar Leuthimer, board member of KNETCO; Rodolfo Gardose, president of United Negros Drivers and Operators Center; and Eric Bindoy secretary general of United Negros Drivers and Operator Center posted bail of P3,000 each on Wednesday.

The six along with their members were protesting in front of L'Fisher Hotel when they were arrested Wednesday morning after they refused to disperse, Coronica said.The police chief said the protesters, who were obstructing the flow of traffic in the area, refused to leave despite repeated requests from the police.Coronica also said they turned rowdy as firefighters started hosing them with water.'They hurled stones at the police injuring two and damaged a firetruck,' he said.
