The Army’s 101st Infantry Brigade (101Bde) has distributed food packs and baseball caps to militiamen stationed in an island village in Isabela City, the capital of Basilan province, the military said Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
Brigadier General Alvin Luzon, 101Bde commander, led the distribution of food packs and baseball caps to the militiamen when he and Lieutenant Colonel Adolf Ian Garceron, 4th Special Forces Battalion commander, visited the militia patrol base in Lampinigan, Isabela City on Monday, December 30. Luzon expressed his admiration for the unwavering dedication and sacrifices of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliary (CAA), particularly those assigned to remote areas like Lampinigan, an island village. “The Christmas season is a time for giving back and showing appreciation. We honor your service and commitment to ensuring peace in Basilan. Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed, and we are here to support and thank you,” Luzon told the militiamen at the Lampinigan Patrol Base. He said such gesture of gratitude underscores the vital role of the CAAs in maintaining peace and security in the province of Basilan. He said the distribution activity formed part of the 101Bde’s ongoing efforts to support and uplift the morale its personnel as well as reinforce camaraderie and sprit de corps during the holiday season. It also highlights the brigade’s commitment to fostering a sense of family and solidarity within its ranks, particularly in areas where troops face unique challenges due to their geographical location, according to Luzon.
