An endorsement of PH energy policy
IN a joint statement on Tuesday, August 13, nine business groups expressed their support for Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla and the 'balanced' approach the Department of Energy is taking toward building up the Philippines' generation capacity and energy mix.
' The basis of these charges, according to the complaint, was Lotilla's approval of the expansion of the Therma Visayas Inc. coal plant in Toledo City, Cebu, which the petitioners claimed violated the 2020 moratorium on coal power projects in the Philippines.The second case, which was no less bizarre, was the successful petition to the Regional Trial Court in Taguig on July 31 by the members of the consortium operating the Malampaya gas field — Prime Energy, Prime Oil and Gas Inc.
