OLONGAPO CITY—A farmer in San Marcelino town, Zambales province has severed ties with the communist rebels after surrendering to authorities, police said Thursday, April 20.

In a report, the Police Regional Office 3 identified the rebel as “Ka Julie,” a former member of the Sangay Yunit Guerilla/Provincial Yunit Guerilla under the Bagong Hukbong Bayan.Ka Julie also turned over a.38 caliber revolver, live ammunition, and a hand grenade.
