A FARM planted with marijuana plants located in Barangay General Climaco, Toledo City, was raided by members of the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Cebu Police Provincial Office, along with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas , Toledo City Police Station, and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company.The operation took place around 1:50 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, destroying 700 marijuana plants, which were estimated to be worth P280,000.
The plants were immediately burned at the site, but only three plants were collected for submission to the PNP Regional Forensic Unit 7.Police Colonel Jovito Atanacio, the acting Provincial Director of the Cebu Police, stated that the confiscation of the marijuana plants demonstrates their commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in Cebu.'This operation underscores our relentless fight against the drug menace. We will not allow illegal substances to take root in our communities.
