The survey, conducted from Dec. 12 to 16 with the results released on Friday, Dec. 24, showed that 65% of adult Filipinos expect a happy Christmas. SWS said the number of adult Filipinos who expect a sad Christmas fell from the record-high 15% last year to just 8% this 2021. Expectation of a happy Christmas is highest among those in the Visayas at 68% , followed by those in Balance Luzon at 67% , Metro Manila at 61% and Mindanao at 60% .Only 26% said it is happier now than before, while 25% said it was the same as prior to the pandemic.“It declined to 77% in 2003 and to a 62 to 69% range from 2004 to 2013 before it improved to 71% in 2014 and 79% in 2019,” it added.
