MANILA, Philippines: The Philippine embassy in Bangkok, Thailand announced that four transgender Filipinas have returned home following a fight with transgender Thais.

In a statement on Saturday, the four were met by Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Eduardo José A. De Vega.'The Embassy provided comprehensive assistance and support to our affected nationals. The fines ordered by the Bangkok Civil Court were paid and settled by the Philippine Government through the Philippine Embassy,' the statement read.In addition, the embassy also called out individuals who conducted an illegal fundraiser to help pay the fines of the four.

'In light of this incident, it has come to the attention of the Embassy that some unscrupulous individuals or entities are using this unfortunate event to conduct fundraising activities in the guise of helping the above four Filipinos in 'paying their fines,'' it said. 'We caution these concerned individuals from spreading misinformation or posting unsubstantiated information on social media.
