GMG Productions, the theater company responsible for bringing other hit musicals in the country such as “The Sound of Music,” “Hamilton,” and “Miss Saigon,” has announced that “SIX” will be staged at the Theater at Solaire from Oct .1 to 20.
Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, “SIX” revolves around the story of the six wives of King Henry VIII namely, Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anna of Cleves, Katherine Howard, and Catherine Parr. The musical focuses on the retelling of the queens’ respective relationships with the king from their perspective as they determine who suffered the most out of all of them.
Following its debut in 2017, the musical has been met with critical acclaim and has garnered multiple accolades including 2 Tony Awards and a Grammy nomination as it has toured the United States, Canada, Australia, and South Korea. “Bringing SIX The Musical to Manila is a momentous occasion. The energy and impact of this production are unparalleled, and we believe Manila audiences are in for a royal treat. This is not just a show but an experience that celebrates the strength and resilience of women in a way that is both entertaining and empowering,” said Carlos Candal, CEO of GMG Productions.
