— Authorities have rescued three foreign nationals who were abducted in Pasay City this week, the Philippine National Police's Anti-Kidnapping Group said Saturday.They were rescued on Friday from a safe house at a village in Bacoor City, Cavite, which the police said had also been used in past kidnapping incidents. Authorities raided the house following a surveillance operation where a Chinese national was seen dragging one of the victims.
The victims later told the police that they were abducted from a shabu-shabu restaurant in Pasay City. From there, they were brought to the house in Cavite where they were raped and injured. Police said the suspects are facing criminal charges for kidnapping and serious illegal detention, as well as rape., according to police. Data show incidents doubled from 2017 to November 2019. In 2019 alone, at least 58 Chinese nationals were abducted.
