The Philippine National Police’s anti-kidnapping unit rescues a Taiwanese employee of an offshore gaming operator in the country after he was illegally detained by his employer
The Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group rescued a Taiwanese man working for a Philippine offshore gaming operator or POGO, after he was illegally detained by his employer, authorities said Thursday.
The victim arrived in the country on Nov. 17 to work in a POGO where he was promised a salary of 6,000 yuan. However, he only worked for 11 days as his recruiter did not follow their agreement regarding the payment of his debt in Taiwan, the statement said.
