Real estate and retail tycoon Manuel Villar has maintained his position at the top of the country’s richest list.
MANILA, Philippines —
It was a three-way tie at No. 1,330 among two other Sy siblings, Henry and Herbert, and tobacco and airlines tycoon Lucio Tan, all of whom had a net worth of $2.5 billion. The husband-and-wife tandem of Lucio and Susan Co of retailer Puregold ranked at Nos. 2,410 and 2,545, respectively, with net worth of $1.2 billion and $1.1 billion.
The 38th annual World’s Billionaires list, the definitive ranking of the world’s richest people, featured a record-high 2,781 billionaires.
