CONCERNED citizens have surrendered 17 loose firearms to government authorities in the province of North Cotabato and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao , the military said Thursday, March 6, 2025.The 6th Infantry Division said the 17 loose firearms were surrendered to the troops of the 40th Infantry Battalion in Ladtingan village, Pikit, North Cotabato on Tuesday, March 4.The 6ID said the surrendered unlicensed guns include four M-14 rifles, a caliber 5.
Lieutenant Colonel Erwin Jay Dumaghan, 40IB commander, formally presented the surrendered loose firearms to Colonel Ricky Bunayog, 602nd Infantry Brigade commander, in a simple ceremony at the 40IB headquarters.The 6ID said the loose firearms were surrendered by concerned citizens from the towns of Tugunan and Kapalawan in the Special Geographic Area of Barmm and Matalam, North Cotabato.
