At least thirteen Filipinos from Ukraine arrived in the country on Tuesday night amid the heightened tension between Russia and Ukraine.
According to Sam Nielsen’s Super Radyo dzBB report on Tuesday, the 13 Filipinos arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 10:30 p.m.
The Department of Foreign Affairs , meanwhile, said the 13 Filipinos departed from Warsaw Chopin airport via Emirates flight EK 2023. They are part of the 40 evacuees who left Kyiv for Lviv and were welcomed by Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. at the Poland border. The DFA further said that the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw facilitated their travel and flight documents, as well as their stay in a hotel in Warsaw.
All the repatriation expenses, including transport expenses from Kyiv to Warsaw, food and accommodation in Lviv and Warsaw, RT-PCR test, and airfare to Manila were shouldered by the DFA’s Assistance-to-Nationals fund., most of whom are in Kyiv and located far from the eastern border near Russia.
