Thirteen areas in Luzon and Visayas were placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 as Tropical Depression AmangPH accelerated while moving westward toward the coast of Catanduanes, PAGASA said Tuesday.
PAGASA said as of 10 a.m., the center of Amang was estimated at 270 km east of Virac, Catanduanes . It was packing maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 70 km/h, and central pressure of 1004 hPa.
Amang, the first cyclone to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility this year, was moving westward at 30 km/h, with strong winds extending outwards up to 300 km from the center, according to PAGASA. —
