Catanduanes and areas in Samar are under Signal No. 1 as the low pressure area developed into Tropical Depression Amang Tuesday morning, the state weather bureau said.

Signal No. 1 may also be raised over other localities in Eastern Visayas and Bicol Region, PAGASA added. Amang was last spotted 475 kilometers East of Virac, Catanduanes, according to PAGASA's 5 a.m. bulletin.
