An individual has been arrested in Misamis Oriental over the online sexual exploitation of minors, the National Center against online sexual abuse and exploitation of children and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Material said Thursday.In a statement, the center said that the Women and Children Protection Center-Mindanao Field Unit arrested alias Lyra on November 6 and rescued four minors, of which one was a victim and three were children-at-risk.
“Today, we have taken a significant step in our mission to eradicate the online exploitation of children,” Police Lieutenant Colonel Mario Baquiran Jr. of the WCPC-MFU said. “The rescue of these innocent children is a testament to our commitment of protecting the most vulnerable members of our society. We will not rest until every child is safe and every perpetrator is held accountable,” he added.
