’Twas really a big year for the Japanese brand

The past fiscal year was big for Mitsubishi Motors Philippines . Its popular people-hauler, the Xpander, ended FY23 as the market’s top-selling MPV.

But that wasn’t the only highlight for the Japanese carmaker. MMPC also set a sales record with 81,473 units sold from April 2023 to March 2024—its highest annual sales volume yet. This was good for an 18.5% market share in the automotive industry. It reflected a 34% growth from FY22’s tally of 60,630 units sold.MIAA: NAIA Terminal 3 carpark operator to assume liability for fire damage to 19 carsTopping the sales charts for Mitsubishi were—unsurprisingly—the Mirage, Xpander, and L300.

“We focused on customer-centric approach the past years, aiming to provide wonderful car life experience to Filipinos,” said MMPC president and CEO Takeshi Hara. “We highlighted experience as an important part of the customer’s purchasing journey. And we’re very grateful to our valued customers, dealers, suppliers, and business partners for their positive feedback on this approach and for their continued support to the Mitsubishi Motors brand.

We expect the coming year to be even bigger and busier for Mitsubishi, especially with the all-new Triton already here and more exciting new models such as the Xforce and the Xpander Hybrid are on the way.
