Seen with multiple sports cars
After a video of several sports cars having a more-than-spirited drive to Tagaytay went viral, the Land Transportation Office issued show cause orders against the vehicle owners. From the LTO’s official statement, at least six cars were involved in a highway race.
The viral video is still up on the uploader’s Facebook page, where two Mazda MX-5s, a Ford Mustang, a Chevrolet Camaro, a BMW M4, a Nissan Z, and other cars can be seen occupying multiple lanes and speeding past one another on a highway. Throughout the video, drivers would race on a road outside a restaurant, where the rest of the cars were parked.Once identified, each driver will be slapped with a 90-day suspension on their license. As per the SCO, the drivers will also need to defend themselves and prove why they should not be charged with reckless driving and being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle. The owners of the first six vehicles that were issued will need to present their registration papers and other relevant documents when they appear before the LTO, as part of the agency’s review and verification process. There is a time and place for these types of drives, and that is in an enclosed and controlled track, where no other drivers or pedestrians are put in danger.
