The Commission on Higher Education has issued a closure order and revocation of the government recognition to Our Lady of Mercy College in Borongan City, Eastern Samar for its non compliance to the policies, standards, and guidelines of the commission,The closure order is effective Academic Year 2025-2026, according to CHEd chairman Prospero de Vera 3rd.
'Upon the evaluation of CHEd through its Regional Office 8, OLMC was found to be non compliant with the PSG in Criminology and Nursing Programs of the Commission, hence, the need for imposition of sanctions by CHEd,' the commission said.The Commission also raised complaints about the issuance of their school records and credentials at media outlets and CHEd Regional Office 8.
