Padilla's relationship with the late comedian was controversial, given their significant age gap and previous commitments to other partners at the time they fell in love. Nevertheless, the pair overcame obstacles and stayed together for twenty years. They have one child, Zia, and an adoptive daughter, Nicole. Currently, Padilla is seeing architect Conrad Onglao.
