School placed in hold and secure mode during Monday morning incident
A youth was arrested Monday after a report that a young person was on Cowichan Secondary School property chasing another youth with an edged weapon.
Neither youth was connected to the school, and North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP believe the two are known to each other. The youth who had been chased was located uninjured, but refused to co-operate with officers. The suspect was found soon after. The school went into hold-and-secure mode during the incident, meaning the outside doors were locked and regular activity proceeded as usual.Anyone with information or video footage of that happened is asked to call North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522.
