Here are today\u0027s Ottawa Sun letters to the editor.
Because the readership of these letters is mostly the well-established-in-life age group, we should help spread the reality to the rest of our younger friends. The constant denial or “deflection” by the leadership of this country, be it the government or the Bank of Canada, of what is coming, is going to hurt people so much.Sign up to receive daily headline news from the Ottawa SUN, a division of Postmedia Network Inc.
This is not a Canadian recession, it is a worldwide reality. A Third World War is beginning unless some miracle changes what is happening right now. Difficult times could last 10 years, and hopefully, that is all. Interest rates could well climb to double digits.Article content Some will write me off as a depressing, out-of-touch jerk, and I’m sorry for that. Over times of good and bad, I’ve learned strength comes from dealing with and accepting reality. It puts fight in the spirit and strength in the soul.
The reality is we will all make it through and come out with a new booming economy with opportunities galore for those who want them.Anyone who lives in Ottawa will not be surprised by the fact Ottawa was ranked the fourth-most disappointing Canadian city by tourists. You only have to walk by a group of tourists to hear a young voice scream, “No, not another museum!” My heart screams along with you, youngster.
What else does Ottawa offer other than all those museums? An indoor Wonderland? Nope. A zoo? Nada. An aquarium? Zip. An interactive library? Not in your lifetime. An indoor beach with a wave pool? Keep that swimsuit packed. An indoor farmers market with cafés and tables? You wish.Well, I am sure the war will soon be over and Russia is scared as Canada is sending four tanks to Ukraine.
