The duo were boarding the morning flight from Kuala Lumpur on Boxing Day when a confrontation was allegedly sparked over a missing pair of headphones.

The man in red then returns to retrieve his bags before making one final threat to the cabin. After both men are eventually removed from the plane the cabin then erupts into cheer and applause.

The passenger who filmed the incident claimed the ordeal had delayed their flight by 1.5 hours, but praised staff for keeping the situation under control. Air Asia told SkyNews.com.au it could not comment on the specifics of the incident due to privacy laws. The safety and wellbeing of our staff and guests is always our number one priority,” said chief airport and customer experience officer, Kesavan Sivanandam.
