With the warmer weather will come a return to more active weather - and possibly more snow

Temperatures will climb five to ten degrees above normal this week. As a result, last week's frigid weather could be the coldest of this winter as we trend toward warmer weather. The next system arrives on Thursday and will bring a day or two of snow and wind. With each of these storms, we are likely to see a brief cool-down , but warmer weather usually quickly returns

Sunshine early Monday gives way to afternoon clouds as temperatures remain below freezing. Strong southerly winds arrive in the evening and overnight, along with 3-5cm of snow. Much warmer arrives Tuesday with a westerly wind as daytime highs climb to +3°C. There will be a chance of light snow mixed with showers in the morning. Wednesday will be sunny, with temperatures again rising to +3°C.

A storm system arrives on Thursday to bring wet snow as temperatures linger around the freezing mark. Gusty east winds become northerly on Friday and usher in cooler air as temperatures fall throughout the day. Flurries are likely all Friday. This storm will usher in cooler air for the weekend, but that shouldn't last long, as warmer air returns next week.
