Here’s something that will make the long weekend feel even longer, the musings and meditations on the world of sports.
So what have we learned? Well, it’s nothing new. The secret has always been in striking a balance in those disparate, seemingly contradictory elements which make up hockey. Teams have to play fast but they also have to play heavy. They have to be physical but they have to play with composure. They have to score and they have to defend.

That will change in a big way this summer when blue-chipper Bowen Byram figures to go in the first five picks of the draft, but other players will be getting a long look from NHL teams, most notably defenceman Dylan Plouffe.
That scandal has been revived in the last couple of months by veterans of those two teams who’ve accused the Whitecaps and the CSA of covering up the allegations made against the coach for bullying, intimidating and inappropriate conduct.
