Rutgers running back Kyle Monangai appeared to score a touchdown against Nebraska, but he was called short. Greg Schiano did not challenge it. Here's why.

After the contest, Schiano explained that the officiating crew told him the play was reviewed in the Big Ten’s replay center in Chicago and it was not a touchdown. He would have had to use a timeout to challenge the play, and standing in a favorable position to score in a two-score game, he did not want to waste of his three remaining timeouts.
Schiano saw the replay following the contest, but he would not say whether he thought it was a touchdown: “I’m not going to get into that.” His facial expression made it clear that he did.“I asked them. They told me. Would you use a timeout? Think about it for a minute,” Schiano said. “They said, ‘no, we watched it, it’s not a touchdown.’ I’m not going to burn a timeout in the second half. I’m doing something and got to trust what they see.
