Personally, OpenAI is now ranked alongside Meta - the"end justifies the means" and"better to ask for forgiveness than permission" kind of leadership is difficult for me to accept. Only the US government is to blame here - why they are letting these billionaires exploit every human being on Earth is unfathomable!
Instead of using OpenAI's ChatGPT, I look at models on HuggingFace.co that are available on Ollama.com and PrivateLLM.app. Ollama is an open source application that allows you to download different LLMs and run it locally. What I like is that you can configure it to act as a server, too, but on your own network.
