Presidential candidate Senator Panfilo M. Lacson could not believe why another political camp bashed him just because he greeted President Duterte on his 77th birthday.

Lacson said he sees nothing wrong for greeting the Chief Executive although he has had several disagreements with him and called each other a few times ‘’totoo naman yan.. medyo may banggaan kasi kami isyu ang labanan .’’

‘’Ewan ko ang mga tao na miserable ang buhay, away nila ng merong nagbabatian parang galit agad. Hindi ko maintindihan ang mga tao na ganun ,’’ he added. He recalled that then Mayor Duterte visited and tried to console when he was in Kiangan where he was placed under restriction by then President Ramos in relation to the Kuratong Baleleng case.

’Ito ang words niya, sabi niya ‘pesteng yawa itong Manila, sabi niya be my special guest sa Kadayawan Festival *to hell with Manila..you will be my special guest at the Kadayawan Festival). Akong bahala sa iyo, magrelax ka doon .

Lacson stressed that his greeting the President was his way of relating his little experience with him when he was a mayor.
