READERS' comments and reactions to my previous column, 'Uncanny guardians of public funds' , deplore our politicians' hypocrisy. They spoke with disdain about the members of the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, who took turns in saying their respective oratories about Congress' 'power of the purse' and 'legislative and oversight functions.
In many cases throughout the country, it includes guns and goons, too!So, who are these 'trapos' fooling when they declare that they were elected or reelected by their constituents because of their families' 'track record of good governance'?To be fair, there might be those who got reelected up to a maximum number of terms because of their past performance. But once they tasted power, they got corrupted by it absolutely.
