MANILA, Philippines — The China Coast Guard’s “monster ship” has been inching closer to the Philippine Coast Guard’s vessel at Escoda Shoal in the West Philippine Sea. According to PCG spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea Commodore Jay Tarriela, the enormous CCG ship is only about 500 yards away from PCG’s biggest vessel as of Friday morning.
