Malacañang told the public that despite being imperfect, the country is winning the fight against the COVID-19, said Presidential spokesman Harry Roque a day before President Duterte is set to announce the new quarantine protocols applicable to all areas in the country starting July 1.

In his Monday press briefing, Roque said President Duterte will announce the new community quarantine classifications in the entire country on Tuesday, June 30, or the last day of the existing lockdown measures.

A UP study released early this month said the Philippines will have 40,000 cases by the end of June, a figure higher than the 35,455 cases reported by the Department of Health on Sunday. Roque said that the administration of President Duterte, despite being imperfect, is doing its best to address the COVID-19 pandemic.“Hindi po tayo perpekto. Siguro po talaga we could have done better. Pero nandito na po tayo . And one thing I can assure you: The President did the very best that he can and we are in control of the situation,” he added.
