Water levels in major dams continue to drop

THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Tuesday that the reservoir water level (RWL) in five major dams in Luzon continues to drop.

Pagasa said these are Angat and Ipo in Bulacan, La Mesa in Quezon City, San Roque in Cordillera and Caliraya in Laguna.As of 6 a.m. Tuesday, Angat Dam's RWL was 193.72 meters, 0.18 m lower than the 193.90 m level on Monday.The reservoir supplies about 90 percent of raw water requirements for Metro Manila through the facilities of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System , and it irrigates about 28,000 hectares of farmland in the provinces of Bulacan and Pampanga.

30 m level, the state weather bureau said.Pagasa said Ambuklao Dam in Benguet and Magat Dam in Isabela have also their RWL dropping at 741.29 m or 0.25 lower than its previous measurement and 178.35 m or 0.26 m than Monday's level, respectively.However, Pantabangan Dam in Nueva Ecija and Binga Dam also in Benguet reported increases but still below the normal water level.
