Bersatu leader and Machang MP, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, in a bid to illustrate the state of the people’s finances and how another round of Employees Provident Fund withdrawal is needed, resorted to claiming that it reached a point where someone had to sell their kidney.

He added that Malaysia is a signatory to the Declaration of Istanbul on Organ Trafficking and Transplant Tourism that prohibits organ trafficking in any way, form or means. He has since issued an apology to the Malaysian and Singaporean governments for making the misleading video. The clips allegedly of him travelling to Singapore to sell his kidney were videos recorded when he went for a job interview there.
