WARMINGTON: Toronto's wild mayoral campaign kicks off Monday Via joe_warmington
Just this year, we have seen Mayor John Tory, who won three straight elections, resign after admitting to an affair with a staff member, an integrity commissioner investigation into what happened and even someone throwing eggs at the window of the chief magistrate’s office.
“Until a nomination is filed, a person cannot raise or spend money on their campaign,” says the city.Photo by Jack BolandWhat we do know is the city has already booked 19 time slots so it’s going to be a busy morning. One of those booked has the first spot at 8:30 a.m. and the rest will follow throughout the morning.
So who are we going to see on the first morning of eligibility? Who will strategically wait for another day?Article content The city said it can’t reveal who has registered, so if the campaigns themselves don’t provide the information, people will have keep an eye on who comes into the rotunda with their paperwork.
