NEW GLASGOW, N.S. — Police arrested a wanted Pictou County man after responding to a fire at an apartment backyard in New Glasgow on Thursday, Feb.

During the investigation, police identified Tristan James Marchand, 36, who was wanted on a provincewide arrest warrant for charges including robbery, break and enter, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, possession of a weapon dangerous and failure to comply with the release order.

In addition to these charges, Marchand was also charged with two counts of failure to comply with the release order and obstruction of a police officer. Marchand was remanded into custody and is set to appear in Pictou provincial court on Wednesday, Feb. 22, after appearing in court in Port Hawkesbury on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
